NEWaukee announces Night Market to return downtown on Aug. 18

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Westown Association and NEWaukee announced that the Night Market will return to downtown Milwaukee this year on Wednesday, June 2.

The event will be on Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. between 2nd and Vel R. Phillips Avenue.

The free, outdoor street festival showcases a variety of local vendors, performers and artists.

The new partnership transfer the Night Market brand from NEWaukee to the nonprofit Westown Association, which produces the Westown Farmers' Market, River Rhythms weekly music series, and the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

NEWaukee announced its new marketing services in 2020 and created the Night Market in 2014. it has hosted the event through 2019. The 2020 Night Market season was canceled due to COVID-19.

The decision to bring back the Night Market comes as the city of Milwaukee lifts its COVID-19 restrictions.
