ST. FRANCIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A fresh start in Saint Francis. Ken Tutaj was sworn in as mayor on Monday.
Tutaj defeated former Mayor Cory Ann Saint Marie-Carls in a recall vote last week.
The two were engaged in a public battle after Tutaj helped a Saint Francis woman collect signatures for the recall vote.
The woman claimed the former mayor was unprofessional at a meeting at city hall.
Tutaj says part of his mission as mayor will be to reunite the community.
"We're kind of divided right now and as a leader that's my responsibility to get us back on the same page and from day one, that's going to be job one," said Mayor Ken Tutaj.
Tutaj also said he will focus on lowering taxes and bringing new businesses to Saint Francis.
