WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One of the more unique partnerships in our area is the longstanding relationship between the HAWS Animal Shelter and Tito's Handmade Vodka.
And that partnership created something pretty special at the Waukesha County Shelter today, Oct. 30.
Thanks to a grant from Tito's Block to Block program, landscapers were working on a new outdoor area for the dogs at HAWS.
It's a space that's meant to accommodate dogs that can't, for whatever reason, use the shelter's other outdoor spots.
"We have another spot for the some of the dogs that are staying with us that maybe can't go for a regular walk throughout the grounds, or can't go for an outing," said Jennifer Smieja with HAWS. "They, maybe just right now, are only able to hang out and get some fresh air and just sit and enjoy and relax."
Tito's vodka, through its Block-to-Block program, has supported not only animal programs like HAWS, but services for veterans and the preserving of nature.
