New report ranks safest cities in Wisconsin

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- A new report from Backgroundchecks.org is ranking the safest cities in Wisconsin. 

According to the report, four of the top five safest cities are in southeast Wisconsin. Monroe, which came in second on the list, is in Green County.

1. Cedarburg
2. Monroe
3. Grafton
4. New Berlin
5. Mequon  
6. Muskego
7. Middleton
8. Burlington
9. Oconomowoc
10. Menomonee Falls

Among the 50 states, Wisconsin had the 22nd lowest violent crime rate. The site says they use the most recent FBI crime statistics to create state rankings.
