MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Parking prices in Milwaukee could be going up.
An ordinance going before the Common Council proposes three changes.
First, prices. The City's meters charge at three different hourly rates. All three would go up.
Second is when the meters would be enforced. Weekdays from 8-6 could become 8-9 plus Saturdays.
"I think that's absolutely crazy. It's not good, not good at all," said Virgillette Adams who works downtown.
The third proposed change involves surge pricing, so when it's busy, it would cost more to park.
On the flip side, prices would drop during slow times. The city estimates all of this will bring in nearly $2 million more per year.
