New holiday window display at the Milwaukee Public Market 🎄🎀
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There is a new holiday tradition in Milwaukee. Earlier Saturday, Nov. 22, the Milwaukee Public Market unveiled a new window display for the season.Â
Each of these holiday-inspired installations were made by students at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.Â
The installations line the sidewalk along St. Paul Avenue.Â
It's an area that sees plenty of foot traffic during the warmer months and the Public Market hopes this will keep people coming throughout the fall and into the winter.Â
"If you've been here in the summer, St. Paul Ave is just so full of life," said Communications Manager Paige Hammond. "There is the draft patio where you can get a beer from and people are out here sitting under umbrellas just enjoying the weather, but a lot of that goes away in the colder months. So, we wanted to extend that energy from the summer into the colder months."Â
The students were also there to show off their designs.Â
People passing by could enjoy free hot chocolate.Â
There was also a station where kids could write letters to Santa and members of the Milwaukee Rep sand Christmas carols.Â
The installations will be on display through the end of January.Â
