New details about West Bend native's murder at Purdue University
WEST LAFAYETTE, IN - New details have been released about the brutal murder of West Bend native Andrew Boldt at Purdue University on Tuesday. Officials say 21 year old Boldt was shot and stabbed to death. The suspect, 23 year old Cody Cousins made his first court appearance in the case on Thursday. He's being held without bond at the county jail. Cousins is accused of entering the classroom Boldt was in and then started shooting him. One witnessed said when Boldt was on the ground and injured, Cousins got on top of him and shot him in the face once or twice. Cousins was found outside near the murder scene sitting on the ground with his hands behind his head. His hands and clothes had blood on them. A witness describes Cousins as being calm and sad at the time of his arrest. Cousins murder trial is set for April. If convicted he could be sentenced to anywhere between 45 and 65 years in prison.
