MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marquette University Police now has a new leader.
Edith Hudson was sworn in during a ceremony.
She's the former Assistant Police Chief for the Milwaukee Police Department. She says she's looking forward to the opportunity and sees it as a good fit with her family.
"But it also fits what I would hope for my son and his education so I think that fits very well with who I am with my background and community engagement and with community collaboration, I think that would fit in well," said Chief Edith Hudson.
MUPD has been without a chief since Paul Mascari resigned from his position in May after being cited for an OWI in January.
Captain Jeff Kranz has served as the Interim Chief.
