New Berlin home fire caused by smoking

New Berlin Fire Department said a fire happened at a ranch home at 17535 West Westward Drive.
The fire was contained to a single bedroom but there was smoke damage throughout the house.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the cause was careless smoking. Three people were displaced and the Red Cross was called for assistance. Fire was under control in 10 minutes.
