New beer garden opening in Milwaukee's Third Ward 🍻
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new beer garden is opening in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward!
Friday, June 9, the Third Ward Beer Garden in Catalano Square will open for the season.
Featuring a menu of local craft beer, imported beer and more, the seasonal beer garden will operate June-September. The beer garden will feature a custom two-level pop-up container bar with a rooftop stage. Additional seating will be available at German-style picnic tables; high-top tables crafted from beer barrels will also dot the landscape.
The beer garden features a unique rooftop green space where live music will fill the park on Thursdays and Saturdays. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Historic Third Ward Association and BID #2, with funds raised supporting improvements to Catalano Square.
“This beer garden is a place for our neighborhood residents and visitors to come together, raise a glass and celebrate summer in one of our favorite Third Ward parks,” says Jim Plaisted, executive director of the Historic Third Ward Association. “With local brews and local musicians drawing beer lovers to Catalano Square, we are excited to show off all the incredible businesses that populate this area of the Third Ward. From Club Charlie’s, Copper Turtle Brewery & Taverne and Riley’s — all located just off the Square — to the nearby MARN Art + Culture Hub, MIAD campus, and the shops and eateries on Erie Street and more, there’s truly something for everyone.”
The Third Ward Beer Garden will be managed by longtime hospitality industry vets Leanne and Dave Hock, who are also Third Ward residents.
The Third Ward Beer Garden will operate Wednesdays-Sundays through September. Hours will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesdays & Thursdays; 3-9 p.m. Fridays; noon-9 p.m. Saturdays; and noon-5 p.m. Sundays. Visit thirdwardbeergarden.com for information on weather and/or special event closures, as hours may vary.
