OCONTO FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Town of Oconto Falls celebrated 'Veteran's Day' a few days early with a dedication ceremony of a new veterans monument.
It was built on a hillside overlooking a cemetery where local veterans are buried. It's also on a walking trail.
Officials say it's an unspoken "thank you" to veterans for their sacrifices.
"Never forget why we're here. Never forget our laid heroes. Never forget those that came home and those that did not come home," said Bob Maloney, Project Manager, US Navy.
A local high school jazz ensemble also participated in the ceremony.
