A witness saw the suspect running away and pointed officers in his direction.

Officers responded to the 5500 block of N. 35th Street around 12:30 p.m. on September 13 where they were met by the victim, a 16-year-old female.

The victim told officers a male suspect came up to her, struck her, and stole her cell phone before he fled on foot.

The suspect, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man and convicted felon, had more than a gram of cocaine on him and was quickly taken into custody in the 5500 block of N. 32nd Street.
