(CBS 58) – NASA is expecting to take an important step with its Commercial Crew Program on Saturday, November 14.
A four-person crew aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft will launch to the International Space Station.
It will be the first fully crewed and operational commercial mission to the ISS. The four astronauts, three Americans and one Japanese citizen, will live aboard for the space station for six months. NASA says the mission, Crew-1, will pave the way for regular, cost-effective launches to the station from the U.S.
CBS 58 spoke with NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara to learn more ahead of the launch.
More information on Crew-1 can be found on NASA's website.
