SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- A local organization is working to raise awareness regarding mental illness with an event this weekend.
Two representatives from The National Alliance of Mental Illness stopped by the CBS 58 Studios to talk about how NAMI Waukesha helps to end the stigma around mental health conditions and encourages recovery.
This was done in preparation for their event being held on September 14.
NAMIWalks is the nation's largest mental health awareness and fundraising event. The opening ceremony for their Waukesha 5K event kicked off at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Frame Park Picnic Shelter.
