Complaint: Muskego Taco Bell employee pointed gun at customer trying to get behind counter during argument

MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Taco Bell employee accused of pointing a gun at a customer during an argument made his first appearance in court Wednesday. 

Police were called to the restaurant on Janesville Road in Muskego Monday for reports of a fight inside the building. According to the criminal complaint, officers in route were told shots were also fired in the air outside. 

After investigating, police determined two customers who were angry with their drive-thru order had confronted employees inside the building. The complaint says James stepped in to stop them from going behind the counter and pointed his gun at one of them. 

According to the complaint, James' concealed carry permit expired this past December. 

He's charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police say a Taco Bell employee in Muskego was arrested Monday, March 2, after allegedly firing a gun during an altercation with customers outside the fast-food restaurant. 

Officers responded to the Janesville Road location around 1:10 p.m. after officials say a physical fight began between two patrons and several staff members inside the business. 

Shortly after multiple people involved stepped outside, police say an employee fired several rounds from a handgun. 

No one was struck by the gunfire; however, officials say one person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the fight.  

Muskego police say the customers involved left the scene before their arrival.

A charge of first degree recklessly endangering safety will be referred to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department against the employee who fired the weapon. 

An investigation remains ongoing.
