MILWAUKEE (CBS58) -- The city of festivals has something for everyone, and coming up on Saturday, August 2 is the 5th annual "Soberfest" a music festival focused on recovery. The event is free for anyone interested, particularly those who are in recovery or curious about being sober.
From 4-9 PM at pere Marquette Park in Milwaukee, there will be free food, mocktails, music, games, family-fun, and resources. Byron Thompson, Milwaukee’s Senior Volunteer Manager, joined us on CBS58 Saturday morning to tell us more about the event.
He says The Phoenix is "a national movement of more sober inclusive music events and festivals to foster community, connection, and sobriety.... impacted nearly 1 million individuals in recovery and seeking long-term sobriety and those affected by substance abuse through free-to-join fitness, health and wellness, arts, and social programming."
