Mukwonago police investigating 'suspicious incident' at Indianhead Beach

MUKWONAGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Village of Mukwonago Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident reported on Monday, July 11.

Police say a mother with five children were underneath the picnic shelter at Indianhead Beach, located at 820 Main Street, when she left for one minute to take the youngest child to a nearby restroom.

Officials say when she returned, the oldest of the children -- a 10-year-old boy -- was walking away toward a pedestrian bridge with an unknown man. When she called out for him to stop, the man said that he'd asked him to help make a YouTube video and asked if that was okay.

The woman stated that it was not, and had the child return to her.

The mother reported being at the park for about two hours prior to this incident and does not remember seeing the man until this interaction.

She said the man, in his 20s, left with an older man in his 50s, in a dark gray Prius-style vehicle with unknown registration.

The men are described as:

  • white male in his 20s, 5’10”, 180 lbs., 2-3” dark brown wavy hair, wearing shorts and a T-shirt
  • white male in his 50s, 5’8”, 200 lbs., shaved, bald head, wearing shorts and a T-shirt

Anyone with information is asked to call 262-363-6435.
