Mudslide causes train derailment along Mississippi River in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A mudslide caused more than a dozen train cars to derail along the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin Monday.

The train derailed about a half an hour south of Prairie Du Chien in Grant County.

The Wisconsin DNR and U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials say the environmental impact appears to be minimal.

They say there's no threat to public safety, but have asked people to avoid the area.
