MPD seeks suspect following bank robbery near National and Layton

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify and locate a suspect wanted in a bank robbery.

Police say it happened near National and Layton around 4:26 p.m. on Thursday, July 1.

Police say the suspect entered the bank, threatened to cause harm and demanded money. He did not obtain property and he fled on foot. 

The suspect is described by police as an African American man, between the ages of 30 and 35, 5'6 to 5'7, 160 to 170 pounds, and has short hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes, sunglasses, and a black baseball cap.
