MPD officers collect, deliver presents to local children in need

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Members of the Milwaukee Police Department showed up on horseback with a delivery for area children on Friday.

They went to the Sojourner Family Peace Center which serves as a shelter for victims of domestic abuse and violence. Officers from District 1 collected donations and then went shopping for the presents.

“I can’t think of something more important than bringing joy and laughter into the lives of our clients especially the children,” said Carmen Pitre of the Sojourner Family Peace Center.

The officers collected enough toys for all of the children at the center. The kids range in age from infants to teenagers.
