MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating seven shootings that occurred on Memorial Day.

According to police, at least one person died.

Authorities were first called to the area near N. Servite Dr. and W. Manor Ln. around 10:15 a.m. when a 19-year-old woman was hit by a bullet while walking outside. Police say she was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Authorities are looking for a suspect.

An 18-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot near E. Ring St. and N. Palmer St. around 12:10 p.m. Police say he was walking when a suspect shot him. The victim is expected to be okay. Police are searching for a suspect. 

Around 12:40 p.m., police were called to the area near W. Hadley St. and N. 38th St. after a 17-year-old man was shot following an argument with two other people. Police say the victim is being treated for a non-life threatening injury. The suspects are unknown at this time.

At 1:30 pm., a 21-year-old man collapsed while getting out of a car near Kern Park. Police say the man was suffering from a serious gunshot wound and later died from his injuries. Police are searching for a suspect. The victim in the shooting has been identified as Juan Bernal. 

A 41-year-old man was taken to the hospital shortly after 2 p.m. after he was shot near W. Cleveland Ave. and S. 20th St. Police say the victim heard gunshots while walking in the area and then felt pain and realized he was shot. He is expected to be okay. There’s no word on any suspects.

At 5:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot after arguing with another person. Police say it happened near W. Fiebrantz Ave. and N. 69th St. The victim was involved in a physical fight with the suspect. As the victim was driving away, the suspect shot at the car. The victim was hit and taken to a hospital. He is expected to survive. The suspect is unknown at this time.

Around 8:15 p.m., officers were called to the area near N. 39th St. and W. Vliet St. Police say a couple had been fighting throughout the day before the 32-year-old woman was shot. She was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive her injuries. MPD is looking for a known suspect.
