MPD investigating 2 Tuesday shootings involving children, including 8-year-old shot in apparent road rage incident
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are currently investigating two separate shooting incidents involving children that occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
In the first incident, an 8-year-old child was shot near 35th and Meinecke, close to Metcalf Park, around 6:30 p.m. Authorities say the child was shot while riding in a vehicle in what appears to be a road rage incident. The child was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

In a second, unrelated incident, a 16-year-old was shot near Sherman and Burleigh at approximately 7:15 p.m. The teenager was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
While the events leading up to the shooting are still being investigated, the victim was subsequently taken into custody.
