MPD: Homicides in Milwaukee have doubled compared to this time last year

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The number of homicides in the city of Milwaukee have doubled compared to this time last year.

Officials say the rate shows no signs of slowing down.

Milwaukee police say the city has seen 136 homicides so far this year. 

That's compared to 66 this time last year. 

Ninety-seven total homicides were reported in 2019.
