13-year-old girl shot and killed near 65th and Congress identified

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 13-year-old girl shot and killed near 65th and Congress in Milwaukee, was identified by her family as Nevaeha L. Ware. 

According to police, Ware was a passenger in a car when a suspect in a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows, approached the car and fired several shots.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- A 13-year-old girl was shot and killed near 65th and Congress on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Milwaukee police say the girl was a passenger in a car when the suspect approached the car and fired several shots. The victim was subsequently struck.

The girl was taken to a local hospital where she died due to gunshot injuries.

Police continue to investigation the circumstances leading up to the shooting, as well as seek unknown suspects.

It happened around 6:46 a.m. 

Police say the location and circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

No arrests have been made.
