Mount Pleasant Police investigating fatal motorcycle and semi tractor trailer accident

A motorcycle operator died after hitting a semi tractor trailer in Mount Pleasant on Hwy 20 at the I-94 on ramp on June 25 at 7:25 am.

Upon arrival, officers found that the operator of the motorcycle, Maximiliano Penaloza Ferreira, was westbound on Hwy 20 approaching the traffic signal intersection with the I-94 at the northbound on ramp. A semi tractor trailer was attempting a left turn from eastbound Hwy 20 onto the northbound I-94 on ramp. The motorcycle impacted the right side of the tractor.

Reports were the cyclist was breathing, but not conscious, wearing a helmet at the time.

CSS personnel assessed the injury, and called for flight for life. Flight for life landed but did not transport as the motorcycle operator died from his injuries. The Racine County Medical Examiner was called to the scene. 

Mt. Pleasant officers with the assistance from the WI State Patrol are investigating the crash. Assist by the Racine County Sheriff's Department. At this time alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in this collision. No charges have been issued at the time of this release and the case remains under investigation.
