Mount Pleasant Man Arrested for 8th OWI

A Mount Pleasant man was arrested for his eighth OWI on Saturday, according to the criminal complaint.
Alan Lawrence allegedly hit another vehicle that was turning left from Larsen Street to STH 32.
When the driver got out of the vehicle she noticed Lawrence did not stop and continued to drive.
The driver contacted police with Lawrence’s license plate number.
Police went to Lawrence’s home and found the suspect almost falling while walking to the door.
He had slurred speech and glassy eyes.
Lawrence denied being involved in the accident, but there was damage to his vehicle.
Lawrence refused a blood draw at the hospital and had to have his blood taken by a warrant.
