Motorcyclist seriously injured after rear-ending truck in Mount Pleasant

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident in Mount Pleasant on Saturday afternoon.

Mount Pleasant Police Officers were called to the area of Hwy 31 and Timber Drive around 1:16 p.m. for a report of a motorcyclist who was injured.

According to police, the motorcyclist entered the intersection southbound on a green light and then rear-ended a truck that was stopped due to backed up traffic at the intersection of Hwy 31 and Hwy 11. 

The motorcyclist was identified as a 42-year-old man from Kenosha.

He was taken to a local hospital by Flight for Life.

His condition is unknown at this time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

Police say alcohol and inattentive driving are being considered as possible factors to this crash.
