Mother, 6 children displaced after electrical fire at home in Racine

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A mother and her 6 children have been displaced from their home following a fire on Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews were called out to a home in the 1700 block of Mead Street around 3:22 p.m. for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, crews saw fire already venting out of an open bedroom window on the first floor.

The family was able to make it out of the home without injuries.

The fire damage was contained to the bedroom but additional smoke damage was visible throughout the home.

Red Cross is assisting the family.
