Monona bank robbery suspect arrested after spike strips deployed on I-43 near Milwaukee, loaded gun recovered

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A bank robbery suspect was arrested on I-43 near Milwaukee after allegedly robbing a bank in Monona.

The Deforest State Patrol was made aware of a bank robbery that took place at the Old National Bank.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle near I74 Milepost but were unsuccessful. The troopers pursued the vehicle and eventually deployed spike strips on I-43 near Milwaukee.

The suspect ran over both spikes and their passenger and side tires were flattened.

The suspect continued for a short distance before stopping near the 187 Milepost where they were taken into custody without further incident.

A loaded 9mm gun was located in the vehicle.
