CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A group of mothers are working to transform a park into a playground every child can enjoy.
Officials took down an old playground in Willowbrooke Park because of safety concerns.
Rachel Rizzo launched a community fundraiser after the city said there wasn't enough money to rebuild a bigger, better playground that would be fully accessible to children and adults with mobility challenges.
"We figured if we're going to put up a new structure, we might as well do it right and put up something our community and neighborhood can be proud of," said Rachel Rizzo, playground coordinator.
The group is very close to its fundraising goal of $205,000 The playground will go up in May. Rizzo says they're looking for 100 volunteers a day for five days.
