Milwaukee's Social Development Commission prepares hundreds of self-care kits for those in need
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Social Development Commission (SDC) spent Thursday, Dec. 31, packing up self-care kits to be delivered across the city. The idea is to help people and families deal with life stresses -- something that may be even more important during a pandemic.
"All of us are going through hard times and we really need each other now more than ever," said Christopher Davis, with the Social Development Commission. "Cope with different negative emotions, whatever it may be, through alternative measures instead of drugs and alcohol, but instead with healthy activities from arts and crafts to brain games, snacks, tea -- things like that."
SDC workers prepared about 700 of the kits for delivery to group homes and shelters.
Wonderful!
