MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Baird Center in Milwaukee has hosted immersive experiences like Beyond Van Gogh and Beyond Monet. Now, you can experience Beyond King Tut. The new exhibit takes you through on a journey and tells the story of King Tut's life and the discovery of his tomb.

The story of the boy king, who was just 9 years old when he reigned, starts with a hallway filled with hieroglyphics, head to toe, where you'll see rare images of the opening of the tomb.

"To this day, it's the only in-tact tomb ever discovered," said Mark Lach, the creative producer of Beyond King Tut: An Immersive Experience.

Lach says this experience is a celebration to mark 100 years since the tomb was discovered.

"143 objects that were wrapped in seven layers of linens on the mummy," said Lach.

Artifacts that now reside in Egypt are brought to life with photos from National Geographic and recreations -- from King Tut's throne to a game he played.

"The pages of National Geographic come alive here in the exhibition," said Lach.

The experience consists of nine rooms, showing you a replica of King Tut's body and ending in a space that will mesmerize you with a journey to the afterlife.     `

Beyond King Tut has something for all ages.

You can also do a VIP experience that uses virtual reality to take you through Egypt and into the tomb, the way it looked when it was discovered 100 years ago.
