MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Finest Scholarship Foundation announced Saturday, July 15, the recipients of the 2021 scholarship awards.
The awards were handed out to the recipients at Milwaukee City Hall.
In partnership with city officials, local businesses, organizations and community members, the foundation awarded ten local high school seniors with the Milwaukee's Finest scholarships.
They range up to $2,000 each.
"Students use this money for transportation and lodging, housing, laptops -- so it doesn't have to go directly to the college or university that they chose to go to," said Jerel Ballard, Milwaukee's Finest Scholarship Foundation.
More than 150 students applied for funding this year, making Milwaukee's Finest one of the most competitive scholarship opportunities in the country.
