Woman accused of putting daughter through unnecessary surgeries enters plea deal

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A plea deal for a mother charged with putting her daughter's life in danger through surgeries she didn't need.

This case dates back to 2019.

On Friday, March 5, 36-year-old Alisha Newman changed her plea to guilty to a charge of recklessly endangering safety.

Other charges were dropped. She will be sentenced in June.

Police said Newman lied to doctors about her daughter's health and that led to unnecessary tests and operations in six states.
