Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market to begin this weekend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Are you one of the many Wisconsinites who visited farmers markets across the city last summer?  Are you sad that you won’t be able to continue your weekend ritual of looking for the best local produce?  Don’t worry, there’s still hope for you this winter!

The 9th season of the Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market will begin this Saturday, November 4th at 9:00 a.m inside the Mitchell Park Domes.

It will be held every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Greenhouse Annex of the Mitchell Park Domes throughout the winter. There will be 50 vendors present at the Market every Saturday, selling anything from fruit and vegetables, to meat and dairy products.

The Market’s vendors will also be offering up a wide variety of freshly baked items, including:

  • Jams, cider, honey, maple syrup, sorghum, sauces and soups, as well as delicious ethnic cuisine.

The market also aims to be affordable for all consumers. According to the Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market Website, “Quest Card always accepted at the market. This season we're able to offer a SNAP Market Match program, where we can double the dollars you shop with your Quest Card, up to $20/day, while funds last.”

Mitchell Park is located at 524 South Layton Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53215.
