Milwaukee Wins Contest and Presidential Visit

The City of Milwaukee will soon welcome the president. The president's staff says he wants to congratulate Milwaukee residents in person for winning a health care contest. 

Milwaukee won first place for the president's health care enrollment contest. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says about 38-thousand new enrolees in Milwaukee picked a 2016 Marketplace Health Care Plan during this open enrollment period. It's a total of 89-thousand people for the Milwaukee area.

Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, and Oakland were also in the top five. The contest is called the 'Healthy Communities Challenge', and the goal of the program was to get more people enrolled in the Affordable Care Act.
