Milwaukee VA to hold 2-day walk-in COVID vaccine clinic for eligible veterans

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee VA Medical Center will host two additional COVID vaccination walk-in clinics on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23 and 24.

Those eligible include enrolled veterans who are 65 and older and receive care at the medical center or its community clinics.

Walk-in clinics will be open from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-noon Sunday.

The Milwaukee VA says they hope to deliver about 500 vaccinations per day.

All veterans must wear a mask, bring identification and be free of any cold or COVID symptoms.

No appointment is necessary, but veterans must commit to returning for a second dose within three weeks.

The medical center says veterans should come alone unless they need assistance from a family member. Parking is available in the main parking lot, and veterans will enter through the east entrance.

This will be the final walk-in clinic for the "foreseeable future," however the VA and its clinics will continue calling and scheduling veterans for vaccination appointments.
