MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee trauma specialist who was charged with multiple counts of sexually assaulting children appeared in court Monday, Sept. 18. 

Fifty-year-old Cornelius Smith pleaded guilty to four out of nine charges against him, including second-degree sexual assault of a child and three counts first-degree child sex assault. 

According to a criminal complaint, Smith sexually assaulted and beat four boys he had adopted or was fostering. 

All of his victims were under the age of 18, with some as young as 11. 

Smith's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18.
