Milwaukee to see the coldest Halloween in over 20 years

Grab that extra coat, hat, and gloves for the kids as they head out trick-or treating later today. It is expected to be the coldest Halloween in the last 20 years.

A deep upper-level trough continues to spin waves of cold air in our direction. The last time Milwaukee did not hit 40 degrees for a high temperature on Halloween was back in 1996, when it was only 36. It is possible parts of the area will not make it out of the 30s today.

The CBS58 Weather Team is calling for 40 degrees for the high, but don’t be surprised if your backyard thermometer says less. Along with the chilly temperatures, wind chills could drop into the 20s by this afternoon and the evening. The wind won’t be as biting as yesterday; nonetheless, it will still be chilly. There could be a few flakes this morning as well.

Today will likely get stacked up into the top five of the coldest Halloweens in the last 30 years.
