Milwaukee Public Market's annual Harvest Festival to take place Oct. 23

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Public Market announced its annual Harvest Festival event will be Saturday, Oct. 23 at Riverwalk Commons.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. across the street from the market at 423 Water St. in the city's Historic Third Ward neighborhood.

This year's event marks the 16th anniversary of the public market's opening in October 2005.

Attendees can enjoy autumn inspired activities, and those 21-years-old and older can take part in a fan-favorite tradition of sampling Lakefront Brewery pumpkin ale tapped from the market's giant pumpkin.

Officials say food trucks will be on site, including Meat on the Street, Press Waffles, Lush Popcorn and Pedro's. Public market businesses Margarita Paradise and Brew City Brand will also participate in the celebration with fall inspired food and drink items, as as well annual apparel sale.

Draft & Vessel, a seasonal outdoor vendor, will be onsite with its RK'd van that offers tapped beer and soda and a retro gaming arcade.

Additional festivities include: apple cider pressing, carve-your-own-pumpkin, live music, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin beer tasting, and a  scavenger hunt by Schlitz Audubon.

Admission is free.
