MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Fire and Police Commission announced MPD’s new recruitment video and website Thursday, Feb. 5.
The new tools are part of the city’s partnership with Safeguard Recruiting, a law enforcement recruiting agency. Police officer applications have more than doubled in the past year thanks to help from Safeguard Recruiting, according to city officials.
Local leaders said the increase in applicants is significant but not enough. Assistant Chief Craig Sarnow said the department knows there’s more work to do because class sizes aren’t where they need to be.
"These tools make it easier for candidates to learn about the process and take that first step in the journey toward joining our team," Sarnow said.
The new recruiting website and video can be found by clicking here.
