Milwaukee Police: Man shot, dies after vehicle taking him to hospital involved in crash

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting/accident that happened on Monday afternoon.

Police say a 30-year-old man was shot around 2:15 p.m. near 24th and Monroe while he was sitting inside of a vehicle.

The victim was picked up by other people who attempted to take him to the hospital. While en route, they were involved in an accident at Sherman and Burleigh.

The Milwaukee Fire Department responded and performed life-saving measures on the shooting victim but they were unsuccessful. Two other people in the vehicle were also taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. There is currently no word on their conditions.

Milwaukee Police continue to investigate.
