Milwaukee Police investigating crash on I-43 at Wells, 2 arrested

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people were taken into custody following a police chase and crash on Interstate 43 Wednesday evening.

According to Milwaukee Police, officers attempted to pull a car over around 5:38 p.m. near 32nd and North. The car drove off and got on the highway. It then crashed. Four cars were involved in the crash.

No one was serious hurt. Police recovered a firearm.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash at approximately 5:41 p.m. Wednesday on southbound I-43 at Wells Street.

Three lanes were shut down along the southbound Fond Du Lac Avenue entrance ramp.

The lanes and entrance ramp were reopened at 6:56 p.m.

Factors leading to the incident are being investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department.
