Milwaukee Police investigate two early morning shootings
Milwaukee Police are investigating two unrelated shootings that happened in the early morning hours of January 1.
The first happened at about 3:45 a.m. in the 4700 block of N. 50th Street. A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was shot during an altercation with a known suspect.
The victim drove himself to a friend's house after sustaining a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Friends then drove the victim to a hospital where police were called.
An arrest has been made and police are seeking additional suspects.
The second happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of S. 11th Street. A 33-year-old Milwaukee man tells police that he was shot during a confrontation with an unknown suspect on the street.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
