MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are searching for a suspect after a deadly shooting on the northwest side.
Investigators say a man broke into a home on 65th and Congress Tuesday night to steal items.
Someone there allegedly shot him and ran from the scene. Police say it was not the homeowner.
The brother of the victim identified him as 27-year-old Tracy Smith.
He says that's not the full story and told CBS 58 the whole incident was a set-up involving money and a relationship gone bad. "The truth is this my brother was set-up and he was murdered in a lovers quarrel," said D'Juan Rainey. "He was set-up to go in the house the first time and he came out of the house, put a T.V. in the car, went back in the house, that's when multiple shots went off."
Rainey says at one point his brother lived at the home and he's sure he was picking up his belongings.
He now wants police to do their job and get justice for his brother's death.
Police continue to investigate.
