Milwaukee police investigate fatal drunk driving crash on 4th of July

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened early in the morning on the 4th of July.
Police responded to the 6300 block of W. Appleton Ave around 2:40 a.m.
Authorities said that a 41-year-old man was driving a Dodge Durango at a high rate of speed when the SUV left the roadway and collided with a large planter.
A 32-year-old male passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.
The driver was arrested for OWI homicide.
Milwaukee Police will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office in the coming days.
