Annual State of the State address
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police got in the Halloween spirit Friday night, Oct. 29.
The department hosted its annual Trunk or Treat event at the Pick 'n Save on N. 35th Street.
Kids in their costumes had the opportunity to go around to each squad car, where officers gave out free candy.
MPD says this is a fun way to connect with the community its officers serve.
"Events like these are extremely important because it shows we're not just arresting people," said MPD Lt. Sheronda Grant. "We are out in our communities building relationships, building part of a positive community engagement with other individuals."
Pick 'n Save and Milwaukee organization Safe & Sound provided the candy to help make this event possible.
