Milwaukee police aide terminated after driving recklessly, fleeing officers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department says they've terminated an employee after driving recklessly and fleeing officers on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Police say they stopped a vehicle for reckless driving in the 10000 block of W. Fond du Lac Avenue around 12:42 a.m., and the occupants immediately fled from the car.

Officers were able to take the driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old police aide, into custody.

Authorities say the individual had been working as an aide since August 2019. The police aide was immediately suspended and has since been terminated from the Milwaukee Police Department.

During an investigation, two additional subjects were taken into custody.

The case has been referred to the DA's Office.
