MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Opera Theatre, in collaboration with Danceworks MKE, is presenting "Rusalka" through Sunday, Feb. 23.
The production blends Antonín Dvořák’s music with contemporary storytelling, featuring singing sprites, dancing goblins and Jason Powell as The Moon. Drawing from Slavic mythology, the opera is sung in Czech, spoken in English and incorporates expressive dance.
Choreographer Christal Wagner and dancer Zoe Glise joined us on Monday, Feb. 17 o chat about the production’s interpretation.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Advance ticket sales are preferred, though door sales will be available as space allows. Tickets range from $24 for students, seniors, artists and military members to $38 for premiere seating.
