MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that killed a 2-year-old girl Friday, July 15.
Officials say it happened around 9:10 a.m. near 13th and Ring.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police say the circumstances leading up to the shooting appear to be accidental, however an investigation is still active.
A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken into custody.
The Milwaukee Police Department would like to remind the public to secure and keep firearms out of the reach of children.
